Challenge
The nature of our work in the Mining and Resources Sector means that our 5000+ workforce often undertake complex and high-risk work across the full range of mining operations. CPM has a regulatory and owner operator duty of care to ensure that our workforce who perform these high-risk tasks have provided the documentary evidence that they are appropriately trained to do so. The mobilization process is comprehensive, with several touch points for both CPM and often a Contracting partner. The initial and ongoing burden of recording Drivers licenses, High Risk Work licenses, and other credentials is time consuming and often leads to a person arriving to site who hasn’t shown the evidence that they are job ready.
Solution
Document Compliance provides employees and contractors with a simple, fast and convenient application for providing their documentary evidence for compliance and safety. Integrated with SAP SuccessFactors, Document Compliance devolves responsibility for compliance to the employee or contractor and uses intelligent technologies to virtually eliminate the manual work involved in compliance by digitally retrieving the pertinent information from uploaded documents (expiry dates, issue dates, worker name, DOB matching etc)
Outcome
Document Compliance helps CPM mitigate health and safety (H&S). It decreases lost productivity caused by manual document submissions by worker, visual inspections by the training team and administrative tasks related to recording and attaching documents in SAP SuccessFactors. It also helps detect non-compliance in the workforce and increases cyber security of personal/sensitive information that could traditionally be exposed during transit, be unnecessarily stored in multiple locations with limited role based access control and unencrypted at rest.
